Homework that doesn’t feel like homework.
Vocabi teaches your learners the 1,000 most common words in their new language, through games, flashcards and a forest they explore by using what they know. Add your own words from each lesson if you like, and see which ones stuck before the next lesson starts.
Lesson 6: at the market
for Tomás, by Friday
- la cebolla onion
- el ajo garlic
- pesar to weigh
- barato cheap
- la cesta basket
- la balanza scales
- el puesto stall
- regatear to haggle
Every learner needs someone who knows where they’re going.
Apps are good at repetition and bad at direction. On their own, learners drift between word lists, skip the hard words and lose track of why they started.
A Vocabi Ambassador is the learner’s main point of contact. You decide what this week is for, notice what isn’t sticking, and plan the next lesson around it. Vocabi does the drilling, so your time together goes to the parts only you can do.
How it works
One loop, every week. Follow the blazes.
-
Vocabi starts with the words that matter most
Every learner works through the 1,000 most common words in their new language, automatically. There’s nothing for you to set up: the everyday core of the language is covered from day one.
-
Add your own words, if you like (Optional step)
Assigning words is optional. Build a list from your lesson, a video or a text you read together, eight words or eighty, and it joins their practice alongside the core words.
-
They practise in Vocabi
Every word lands in the learner’s own dictionary. Flashcards, Matchy, Word Blocks and the crossword all draw from it, and walking the Vocabi forest means spending the words they know.
-
You see what stuck
A word counts as learned when a learner gets it right at least 75 percent of the time and has either answered it right three times in a row or tried it four times or more. You see that for every word and every learner.
-
Start the next lesson there
Spend class time on the words that didn’t land. The ones that did keep coming back in practice, so they stay learned.
14 languages to learn
Your learners can study any of these in Vocabi, each with its own landscape in the Vocabi forest. Some start with the alphabet while their word lists are built, and the list grows as new languages open.

For the people learners already trust
Language teachers
Classroom or one-to-one. Give practice between lessons that you can actually check, without marking a single worksheet.
Language creators
You already teach thousands of people through video. Turn each episode into a word list your audience can practise, and see how far they get.
Life coaches
For clients moving country or career, vocabulary is part of the plan. Set it with them and keep them accountable to it.
Where your learners practise
Vocabi is a vocabulary app you can walk around in. Every game reads from the same dictionary, so nothing a learner studies is a stranger.

Questions
Do my learners have to pay for Vocabi?
No. Vocabi is free to use, with ads. Learners who want no ads and more practice can choose Premium, but nothing you assign needs it.
Does Vocabi replace my lessons?
No. Vocabi handles the repetition between lessons. You still decide what to learn, explain it, and talk it through. Your sessions get to start from what your learner already knows.
Do I have to make word lists?
No. Vocabi teaches the 1,000 most common words on its own, so your learners have structured practice from day one. Assigning words is there for when you want their practice to follow your lessons.
What do my learners need?
A phone, tablet or computer with a browser. Vocabi also has an Android app.
Which languages can I teach with it?
Vocabi teaches 14 languages today: Arabic, Armenian, English, French, Georgian, German, Kyrgyz, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish, Russian, Serbian and Ukrainian. Some of them start with the alphabet while their word lists are built. Coming soon: Japanese.
